Hi Everyone,
I thank you all very much for the comments and the sites(Kayakfourum.com and the great info and PIC's on Kayakfit.com)
Since i am new to learning rolling and have too many kayaks already, no more new kayaks, this greenlander is to now be my primary ocean traveler in the summer. The original fixed position fiberglass seat has now been carefully cut out, so i can later add sliders with locking detents (4 inch forward to 2 inch behind the originl centerline) or position changer by some other mechanism i dream up of, (thanks about the comments about kayak handling characteristics in those positions). For the Pool Sessions i ordered a NRS HotSeat pad (in case i like it for other paddling trips too), and a bunch of that special foam (needed that anyway). The temporary purpose of this boat for the next month or 2 is to progressivly learn the rolls in the pool and lake, and get used to its own characteristics and my abilities. My experiments in the cellar had me about 4-5 or so inches forward for my most comfortable beginner roll practice positions.. for now... I have to start somewhere before i learn those other rolls, right?
Long distance paddling, Im sure thats going to be a new challenge in its self too... Im looking forward to it though.
