In Response To: How come nothing in western CT til Aug? (Rob Di Stasio)

I think the main reason is the lack of launch sites with parking adequate enough to handle a club paddle. Other than the Westport state launch, where else is there? We have many paddlers in Fairfield county and if there are places let us know. It seems like the Norwalk Islands out of Westport is it. correct?

Also I think a lot of people like the less inhabited areas that our regular locations offer with quiet landing spots for lunch. None of this has anything to do with rough conditions because we have paddled on dead flat conditions at Napatree Point and violent conditions at the Thimbles.

Shelly has been posting requests for paddles for many months and we have also entertained that at meetings. So our schedule reflects the wishes of the members (or those who had wishes). There's still plennty of open room for suggestions. We really try to be an equal opportunity club.
