Rob,

In years past, it was mostly because the people who used to set the schedule (Myself, Phil, and a few others) really didn't know the area well, and we relied on the folks who live down that way to suggest what was good and when it was good. So when we got suggestions, we went for it.

Now that the club has leaderless paddles, any good suggestion will be posted on the schedule. I believe Phil mentioned that more paddles are welcome when he announced the 2007 schedule.

So at the moment, it appears that they are just waiting for people to make a few suggestions. I'll throw a few of my faves in there, too, like circumnavigating Jamestown and circumnavigating Fishers Island. Which reminds me, I need to start looking at tides to do those..........
