How come nothing in western CT til Aug?

First off, I am not a ConnYak member. I have followed your Forum for a few years and thought about joining but the fact is you don't seem to do much in western CT.

Seems to me that most meetings, paddles and such are held over in the eastern part of the state. There isn't a paddle in the Norwalk area until late August, 2007.

Is it that there's no interest here, no members? Is Connyak primarily an eastern CT club? I've been waiting to see some club sponsered paddles here, I would join if I knew there would be opportunities but so far they seem few and far between.

Not trying get a rise from anyone, just curious. There seem to be plenty of interesting paddles here in the western part of the Sound. Perhaps they aren't challenging enough, maybe the access isn't as easy as it is out east. Any opinions as to why?
