Lake Erie is now an ice cube! *LINK*

Lake Erie is the shallowest of the great lakes and this year remained unfrozen until mid/late January which gave us along the eastern shore 4-7 feet of snow. Lake Ontario is very deep and seldom freezes which gave and is still giving the eastern region of the lake 10-15 feet of snow. The warmer early winter significantly increased evaporation which led to massive lake effect snow storms - great for skiing, sucks for kayaking
