With the exception of surfing near the Naples pier (there is metered public access, oh, and watch out for sharks due to the fishermen)) Naples is a bit boring for paddling. Nice open & warm water, but kind of long shoreline of the same sites. If time permits, take the 15 minutes or so and head to the public launch on the southwest side of Marco Island, or launch out of the river/harbor seperating Marco and Naples. Also, Mitch Mitchem, owner of Coastal Kayak in Maryland, spends part of his winter in Marco. Very good guy, and is typcially looking for someone to surf with in Marco.
