I believe what he's talking about is if you are a life guard, standing at the pool and suddenly you notice someone upside down in their boat splashing and trying to get upright, what do you do. He's in the deep end and you're alone and not in a kayak. I think what Cherri said is on track or jumpĀ in and push that boat to the edge where you can work and get the person's face above water.
