I suggest that one issue that the cruising industry should deal with (or perhaps it needs to be regulated) is split duties of the captain on many of these floating cities. Too often the captains are expected to become some part of the on board entertainment, hosting dinners and the like.
The “real” captain should be focused on the safe operation of the vessel. Perhaps they should also have a “social” (pretend) captain who can wear a pretty uniform and pose for pictures with the guests.
