To keep ConnYak from self-destructing, it was necessary to come up with a new election procedure. The experience of the last few weeks in attempting to run our first election as a corporation with a rigid set of flawed by-laws has made it clear that a new election is needed. Accordingly, I appointed the only impartial members of the Executive Committee to a subcommittee known as the Election Phoenix Committee. Members are Wayne, Stan, and Jay. They were given the task of planning a new election. The current results of their ongoing work have been reported to me, and will be presented by Wayne as New Business at the meeting on Jan. 18 in Wallingford.
