When I got my first marine hand-held (1985?), FCC insisted on registration. At the time, there were only two classes available, yacht and commercial vessel. Naturally I registered my kayak as a yacht. Started receiving a lot of interesting (and expensive) gift catalogs shortly thereafter (obviously public records are public domain). I guess I now own 4 yachts, which has to qualify not only as a fleet, but also must make me a commodore (though I feel more like a commoner).
