For the past couple years, Joy and I have posted a pickup paddle up the Salmon River combined with a hike up Pine Brook. It is a nice scenic/easy trip during the autumn foliage season. It is on the official schedule for next year on October 13. Peter Marteka (Hartford Courant outdoor writer) featured the area in his column today.
