Instead of a 0 rating maybe have the heading read, Intro to Paddling.
Then mention what skills one needs and where to go to obtain the basics.
List the lake practices that start when the water starts to warm and note the skill sessions held in the pools during the winter. Reminders to check the calendar for skill sessions on the beach.
To me it shows that it is an open group very willing to share their knowledge and get people off to a safe start.

: here at one time) I thought we were trying to encourage new
: paddlers to join up and paddle in a safer environment instead of
: drive them away to paddle solo ( and far from safe) feeling they
: weren't up to the ConnYak levels .
