A tow line might help when a kayak blows away. ConnYak is a pretty aware group but I guarantee the the greater % of paddlers don't have any way to tow a kayak.
It doesn't have to be a high-tech BCU certified rig. A piece of rope will do in an emergency. Just don't tie a cinching loop around yourself.
