Actually, I forgot spare socks. Nothing like dry feet to keep you happy in a crisis. And an extra dry bag.
Some of this stuff I keep behind my seat and in the cockpit, some in the day hatch, and some in other hatches. Still plenty of room left for other gear; no need for a bigger boat. When paddling with a big group, some of this gear can be spread around, but most of the time I carry it alone.
The key is to think small and compact. Most of these are crammed into dry bags with the air purged.
It is amazing how much you can fit in these little boats when you plan ahead.
