Officers and Directors insurance
Phil discussed the cost for the insurance and we agreed that it would cost too much. It was also mentioned that because the club is now incorporated that the general membership is protected against liability, e.g if something happens at a Connyak paddle. However, it offers no protection to individuals that are on the paddle. So if you're worried you'll need to get your own umbrella policy.

PayPal
Consensus was that it would be a good thing. Some more work needs to be done to see how members can submit the membership application information along with the payment.

2012 Calendar
Eric volunteered to work on a schedule for next year. It was suggested that perhaps we could have some other activities such as a holiday party. Maybe Valentines Day in February or Mardi Gras in March before the paddle season starts. Looking for a volunteer to spearhead this idea. Anyone with ideas for paddles can send them to Eric via connyak@connyak.org

Pool Sessions
Phil has not been able to get the pool person to call him back. Also, the costs have gone up. Still, everyone at the meeting wanted to have pool sessions and as one attendee said, "what else are we going to do with the club's money!" Phil will be looking for sessions in Dec, Jan and Feb.

Newsletter
Jay needs some more articles so he can get the newsletter out before Thanksgiving. (See Jay's post)

Membership
Oliver reported that we had 40+ new members this last year. He is working on a package to send new members, a welcome letter by the Pres, an information letter about paddling with Connyak, and of course membership cards.

Launching area signs
Brief discussion about the idea of the club putting up some sort of signs (safety) at boat launches. Needs more work.

Other
The hard-to-understand trip ratings on the Connyak website was discussed. Brian will draft up a new system and put it out for review.

The Connyak launch site page does not list Esker Point. Although it is on the Coastal Access Guide. Brian will update the Connyak Launch site information.

Library
Randy brought the library to the meeting.

Elections of Officers for 2012
The nominating committee will be formed next month, the nominees will be announced at the December meeting and the voting will take place at the January meeting. And yes, you can nominate yourself for any position by contacting someone on the Nominating Committee.
