Apparently there's 37 ocean liners still in operation but the cruise ships don't have the freeboard, are top heavy within safety standards and shallower hulls and.. not constructed as heavy duty. The ocean liners are also faster, carry less cargo weight and look nicer. The cruisers do have stabilizers but only the upper $$ level of ships.
