I'm actually surprised they don't pass a mandatory drysuit law in Maine. How can anybody swim or survive in that water? On LI Sound, we have the luxury of warm water which often leads to a false sense of security. I was up in Gloucester in Aug and even there doing some rolls you could feel that cold water right through the dry top. I take a swim on the beach and go about 30 yards and get right out.
