Yes, great paddling area!
Was there this past Sunday.
Launched from the Ferry slip launch site at Gillettes Castle.
~8 miles round trip, but did some exploring of the many inlets along the creek.

: The channel runs along the eastern side of the CT River very close
: to the entrance to Selden Creek. Look at the charts for that
: area. If you come around the north end of the island you will
: need to either stay very close to the shore or cross the channel
: quickly. There can be some big boat wakes and choppy conditions
: in that area. Lets just say we were very surprised to find
: ourself in a bit of trouble a fee years back- one large boat had
: to back down. Not what you want to have happen. Other than that
: it's a great paddling area.
