I bought an NRS eVent drytop a year ago and my experience has been excellent. Yes, on a very hot day you will still be damp underneath but on other days you actually stay VERY DRY. The shell is lighter and more flexible and that has been a very welcome feature. Because you stay dry at warmer air temps than Gore-tex I tend to wear it more and that is a plus for cold water safety; think hot summer day in cold water Maine. eVent has seen a lot of field testing by bicyclers and backpackers. The big unknown is how well it will hold up in the long haul. Kokotat has said they will switch when they find something more breathable than lasts as well as Gore-tex. Bottom line: I think eVent is a great choice for a DRYTOP. If I were buying a new DRYSUIT I would absolutely still purchase a Kokotat Gore-tex suit because they stand behind the product for years. I haven't been fortunate enough to have mine delaminate but I wish it would. It seems Gore-tex made around 1998 just doesn't delaminate. Rusty
