Mr Mayor,

You have dated yourself!

When I was a young smart-ass teenager, the expressions: "Does a wild bear sh*t in the woods"? and "Is the Pope Catholic"? were retorts we commonly used to questions that we felt the answer was very obvious.

Twenty years later I was directing a Youth Conservation Corps Camp and an enrollee from Fairfield Prep updated me to the revised versions by saying: "Does the Pope Sh*t in the woods"? and "Is a wild bear Catholic"? all summer long. I enjoyed the irony of the reversals and updated my smart-ass coments.

By now there probably have been a few more revisions to to arrive at what's presently in use, but I've been out of touch with teenagers for years so I don't know any newer versions. Guess I too am dating myself (one generation younger) but probably just as out of touch.
