: Wayne,
: There are lots of great options in that area for rereation. I often
: paddle the NY side of the lake across from Burlington around
: Willsboro Bay. In the bay there are spectacular 100 ft cliffs,
: bayou-like estuaries, great fishing and swimming, etc.
: As a previous poster mentioned, on the main lake don't
: underestimate the potential for wind and waves. It is very
: similar to the ocean. A Northerly wind can gain over 100 miles
: of fetch before it hits the lake shore. On more than one
: occasion I have been paddling in waves over 4ft. Often the lake
: and bays are mill pond flat.
: Do you have lodging sorted out yet? My folks rent a cottage on
: Willsboro Bay that is a spectacular deal. It has a sandy beach,
: private dock, etc. Call them if you are
: interested(518)-963-8661.
: Champlain is a great destination. My wife, kids and I will be on
: the NY side in Willsboro Bay for our third time this summer
: starting on Thusday night.
: Enjoy,
: Jon
