A mostly cloudy start at King's Beach, but things got nice very quickly as we made our way east along the rocky shoreline towards the wealthy folks. Of the five of us, Jim, Bill, Kurt, John and myself, only John (also a RICKA member) had paddled here before. With mostly an offshore breeze and minimal swell, we were able to go pretty much anywhere we wanted, and we wanted to pretty much go everywhere. The water moved just enough to make things interesting along the rocks, but just about anybody could have handled this paddle if they stayed slightly offshore. I gather this is about as calm as it gets here. We'll have to try it again when conditions are a little more challenging. This is a very scenic area with beautiful, clear water, lots of rocks to paddle along and around and lots of seriously nice summer homes to gawk at. A trip well worth making.
