Mystic is just great for a night paddle. If you launch at Isham street, you can wander around Mystic harbor / the old boats and head out staying on the right side of the river actually all they way out to the lighthouse if you want. You will have residual light from all the homes, and marinas, boats etc. Then Mystic Pizza in walking distance.
