The rescue clinic includes a bunch of demonstrations in the morning. In previous years the Coast Guard Auxiliary and the CT DEP have had flare demos that involved hands-on practice firing flares. There are in water demonstrations of: Paddle float re-entry after capsize, various assisted rescues, re-entry & roll, and usually a rec boat capsize and rescue attempt.
After the demonstrations everyone gets to practice. Many people will be available to help - just ask!
Bob & I bring our own sandwiches & a bag of Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate squares to share (BUT there's only the quick & the out-of-luck!)
You won't have any trouble finding the meeting spot - drive down the access road to the parking lot, park near other cars with kayak racks, and wander past the picnic tables nearest the water, and you will see the sandy beach where the day's activities will take place.

: Hi all. What goes on at the rescue clinic? Any particular spot to
: meet at BP State Park? Do we bring shared picnic food, or is it
: self-serve like a regular paddle? Thanks. -Laura
