: There is a nice little sandy beach (Alburg Dunes?) north of

From Burlington the paddle out to Juniper Island is very nice. You can loop back toward Shelburne Pt and in to the Bay. A more ambitious paddle out to the Four Brothers can be very fun. That requires more open water skill and navigation.

Another personal favorite is Barn Rock. Start from Button Bay or Basin Harbor, cross the lake to the NY side (1 mile) and enjoy a paddle next to an amazing rock cliff. Follow to Split Rock Point and the lake opens up wide. T With a good Northerly wind you can enjoy a fun surf back to Basin Harbor or continue into Converse Bay.

I spent many summers leading trips on the lake, truely a great place to kayak. You may also try connecting with the Lake Champlain Sea kayak club. Great group of paddlers.
