: Yes, I think we do need a calendar of paddles. There are are quite
: a few folks that only seem to show up at "official"
: paddles, plus I think some newer members are less inclined to
: show up at pickup paddles until they've gotten to know some of
: the "regulars" at the official paddles. Also,
: sometimes it's nice to know what you'll be doing on the weekend
: ahead of time, pickup paddles don't always materialize and not
: everyone is comfortable posting one. Posting pickup paddles
: doesn't always work out all that great unless you're one of the
: more familiar regulars anyway, people like to have some idea of
: who they'll be paddling with and what they're getting themselves
: into before they commit to going. If Jay posts a paddle, no
: problem. If Joe Newbie posts a paddle, unless someone commits to
: going on the bulletin board, he could very well end up paddling
: alone. That's not the way it ought to be, but that's the way it
I find a posted calender of paddles helpful for planning future paddles.
Dave
: is. There really hasn't been much of an overwhelming turnout
: problem in recent years and there is nothing stopping people
: from posting alternate paddles on official paddle days if they
: want to paddle in smaller groups.
