100 kb is about 100 times the size of a typical BBS message, so again, images take up a relatively large amount of space. I'm not saying we shouldn't allow images, I am just telling you my experience with operating a website. Hosting images is storage space intensive. Not as bad as video, but that question will probably come up at some point as well.
