Description |
We will launch from ACGT's beach (Cummings Point/Stamford) at 7:00 AM and paddle 1.5 miles to Todd's Point in Greenwich where we will join the swimmers for the 7:50 AM start and the 1.5 mile swim back to Cummings Point. We will plan to have a group of kayakers meet the swimmers who are doing the 1/2 mile swim from Rocky Point Club. The swimmers and kayakers finish by 9:30 AM. The event concludes with a brief awards ceremony and brunch.

Logistics |
Registration: Click on the website below and sign up to be a kayak volunteer. There is no fee, and you will get a t-shirt for volunteering! This is one of the best events in this area that supports cancer research, and you will enjoy kayaking around Dolphin Cove, Cummings Point and Greenwich Point. Thank you for your support!
Swim Across America . Time: Arrive between 6:00 AM - 6:20 AM to unload your kayak, check-in by 6:30 AM, kayaker orientation meeting on the beach at 6:45 AM, and launch at 7:00 AM. .
Kayak unloading/parking: kayaks can be unloaded at ACGT Headquarters where volunteers will be available to help carry kayaks to ACGT's beach. Parking will be available at ACGT Headquarters. There will be lots of signs and volunteers directing you to the launch spot and parking. .
Inclement weather: the event will be held even if it is raining, but if inclement weather forces us to cancel the event, we will send out an email at 5:00 AM on Saturday.

Directions |
Take Connecticut Turnpike (I-95) to Exit 5. At the traffic light at the end of the ramp, take a right onto East Putnam Avenue (U.S. route 1). At the first light, take a right onto Sound Beach Avenue. Bear right at the rotary and continue on Sound Beach Avenue to end (approximately 1.9 miles). Turn left onto Shore Road. Proceed to third stop sign (approximately .8 miles), turn right onto Cummings Point Road. You will see cones and a volunteer directing you to a parking lot on your right. |
