Description

Paddle south to Bear Mountain Bridge. We will ride the last of the ebb south to the bridge, have lunch at Poplopen Creek and then ride the flood tide north back to Cold Spring. This paddle passes West Point and other historic places with wonderful scenery. This is a fairly long paddle. Tide L-11:05 am H-5:05 pm

Directions

Cold Spring is 45 minutes from Danbury, CT. Take I-84 west (~24 miles from CT border) to Taconic Parkway south. Go (~6 miles) to Rte. 301 west. Follow 301 (~9 miles) to village of Cold Spring. Go straight through village (on Main Street) nearly to end (bottom of hill at railroad tracks). Go left on Lunn Terrace across bridge over railroad tracks, then immediate left on Market Street into MetroNorth parking lot. Launch is to the right; unload boats/gear and park in station lot (free, plenty of parking on weekends).
